A positive trend in the computer market is the declining prices of the Liquid Crystal Display Monitors. There was a time when the LCD monitors were used only in the portable computers. They were considered expensive and invariably used in the sophisticated units like notebooks. Now that the high quality product is offered at lower rates and that too with special features by prominent manufacturers, it has become affordable to even low end users. Many of the latest introductions in the market are with DVI and HDMI inputs. They are light weight and sleek. Further the LCD monitors consume less power than the CRT counterparts.

LCD monitors are available in different sizes from 19 inches to 24 inches and also wide screen category for gaming. 19 inches flat panel displays are also available for basic users. If the consumer is contemplating on replacing the existing monitor with the LCD, it is essential to verify whether it is compatible with the system. The type of connector makes the difference, which is to be ascertained. Make sure whether the connector can be used with the existing video card. Alternatively find out what type of connector will be suitable for the video card.

The consumer can obtain valuable information from the internet in this regard. However it is better to visit a computer dealer and personally verify the various factors mentioned above. A reliable dealer will be able to guide the customer with necessary information. It is needless to state that LCD monitor is an expensive component of the computer and therefore it is necessary to exercise caution. The credibility of the dealer, return policy, discount offers, warranty and above all after sale service are to be considered before finalizing the purchase.

You may laugh and say that TV antennas are a leftover from a forgotten time. With your 500 channel satellite package or your 14 premium cable movie channels, you'd be right to scoff. Until you get your bill. Many viewers are embracing digital TV antennas to get the same audio quality and stellar that you pay big bucks for; all for free. There are several advantages to OTA (over-the air) reception and I'll discuss those along with how to choose the best antenna for HDTV in your area.

Broadcast HDTV channels are the best of the best
The digital television transition is bringing with it solutions to the 2 most annoying troubles of analog broadcasting; snow and picture ghosting. Digital TV channels allow for a crisp, ghost-free picture and clear sound. All local content is not yet broadcast in HDTV, so it's typical for stations to broadcast their digital TV channels in standard definition during the day and switch to a full widescreen HDTV broadcast during the "prime time" hours.

If you've never experienced what a digital TV antenna can do for you, here are a few reasons to consider one:

OTA reception has the best picture quality. While your satellite or cable company may offer 500 channels, this comes with a price. They use data compression techniques that lower the audio and image quality of your broadcast often adding distortion or artifacts.

Of course in addition to your HDTV antenna, you will also need some sort of HDTV tuner to receive these digital TV channels, more often than not on newer TVs this ability is already built in. If you have an "integrated" HDTV, or it mentions an ATSC tuner, you are ready to rock. Also, if you currently subscribe to an HDTV package from DISH or DIRECTV, your receiver almost certainly includes an over-the-air HDTV tuner.

Finding your OTA digital TV channels
One of the best ways to find specific digital TV information for your address is the AntennaWeb.org website. You simply put in your address and it will return a list of the digital stations in your area. It allows you to look at both analog and digital TV stations in your area, or you can filter it to show digital broadcasts only. Since many stations broadcast from the same area, they will be clustered together on your results page. Now that you know what digital TV channels are available in your area, it's time to pick your antenna.

If your reading this article your probably in search of a way to watch some TV on your computer and yes its possible and quite easy to do if you have the right person to help you out. Thats where I come in I like to watch TV on my pc a lot more then I do watching regular cable because I dont get any good channels and the ones you can order are extremely expensive these days.

I am also big in to instant messaging and surfing the net so instead of watching my small TV with 50 cable channels I decided to find a better solution so I could get the good channels and watch TV on my pc. I did a quick google search and came across a program that allowed me to watch TV on my pc and get access too over 3000 channels for the rest of my life so of course I read more into it.

It is now six months in to the future and I am still loving to watch TV on my pc and have seen so many shows and sporting events and some I didnt even know existed. I have since cancelled my cable and have saved around $400 dollars in the past 6 months and I couldnt be happier.

I know this sounds to good to be true and it really isnt the system is legit and you get all the channels you could ever dream of but there is a one time small fee for it of $49 dollars and once you have paid that you have it free for the rest of your life I dont think I have to tell you that this is an amazing deal compared to what your paying for your current cable provider.

I can't say much more about this software that allows me to watch TV on my pc but I suggest you check it out you will be happy you did, not to mention more channels then anyone you know.

For many families, the television has become the focal point for the activity in the family room or home theater room. This means it tends to take up a large portion of the room and is what much of the furniture and lighting is developed around. But that looks all together unnatural when the television is turned off.

There are a number of ways to hide a flat panel television when it is not being used by incorporating the feature into the overall home theater room design. Some use a static image to display a piece of art or favorite family picture. Others use elaborate mounting unites and screens to cover the television when it is not in use. A professionally design theater system can incorporate any idea you have to make the room beautiful both when in use as well as when not.

Below are some display options available for home owners as they consider how they want their flat panel television to be concealed when not in use.

Screensaver Displays
Since many LCD TVs are simple displays like those used by computer users, they can be set to display art and photos when they are not in use. Using a screensaver however does require the television to be on so it is not recommended for long stretches of time. It is best for use during parties.
