A positive trend in the computer market is the declining prices of the Liquid Crystal Display Monitors. There was a time when the LCD monitors were used only in the portable computers. They were considered expensive and invariably used in the sophisticated units like notebooks. Now that the high quality product is offered at lower rates and that too with special features by prominent manufacturers, it has become affordable to even low end users. Many of the latest introductions in the market are with DVI and HDMI inputs. They are light weight and sleek. Further the LCD monitors consume less power than the CRT counterparts.

LCD monitors are available in different sizes from 19 inches to 24 inches and also wide screen category for gaming. 19 inches flat panel displays are also available for basic users. The type of connector makes the difference, which is to be ascertained. Make sure whether the connector can be used with the existing video card. Alternatively find out what type of connector will be suitable for the video card.

The consumer can obtain valuable information from the internet in this regard. However it is better to visit a computer dealer and personally verify the various factors mentioned above. A reliable dealer will be able to guide the customer with necessary information. It is needless to state that LCD monitor is an expensive component of the computer and therefore it is necessary to exercise caution. You may laugh and say that TV antennas are a leftover from a forgotten time. With your 500 channel satellite package or your 14 premium cable movie channels, you'd be right to scoff. Until you get your bill. Many viewers are embracing digital TV antennas to get the same audio quality and stellar that you pay big bucks for; all for free. There are several advantages to OTA (over-the air) reception and I'll discuss those along with how to choose the best antenna for HDTV in your area.

Broadcast HDTV channels are the best of the best
The digital television transition is bringing with it solutions to the 2 most annoying troubles of analog broadcasting; snow and picture ghosting. Digital TV channels allow for a crisp, ghost-free picture and clear sound. All local content is not yet broadcast in HDTV, so it's typical for stations to broadcast their digital TV channels in standard definition during the day and switch to a full widescreen HDTV broadcast during the "prime time" hours.

Of course in addition to your HDTV antenna, you will also need some sort of HDTV tuner to receive these digital TV channels, more often than not on newer TVs this ability is already built in. If you have an "integrated" HDTV, or it mentions an ATSC tuner, you are ready to rock. Also, if you currently subscribe to an HDTV package from DISH or DIRECTV, your receiver almost certainly includes an over-the-air HDTV tuner.

Finding your OTA digital TV channels
One of the best ways to find specific digital TV information for your address is the AntennaWeb.org website. You simply put in your address and it will return a list of the digital stations in your area. It allows you to look at both analog and digital TV stations in your area, or you can filter it to show digital broadcasts only. Since many stations broadcast from the same area, they will be clustered together on your results page. Now that you know what digital TV channels are available in your area, it's time to pick your antenna.

If your reading this article your probably in search of a way to watch some TV on your computer and yes its possible and quite easy to do if you have the right person to help you out. Thats where I come in I like to watch TV on my pc a lot more then I do watching regular cable because I dont get any good channels and the ones you can order are extremely expensive these days.

I am also big in to instant messaging and surfing the net so instead of watching my small TV with 50 cable channels I decided to find a better solution so I could get the good channels and watch TV on my pc. I did a quick google search and came across a program that allowed me to watch TV on my pc and get access too over 3000 channels for the rest of my life so of course I read more into it.

It is now six months in to the future and I am still loving to watch TV on my pc and have seen so many shows and sporting events and some I didnt even know existed. I have since cancelled my cable and have saved around $400 dollars in the past 6 months and I couldnt be happier.

I know this sounds to good to be true and it really isnt the system is legit and you get all the channels you could ever dream of but there is a one time small fee for it of $49 dollars and once you have paid that you have it free for the rest of your life I dont think I have to tell you that this is an amazing deal compared to what your paying for your current cable provider.

I can't say much more about this software that allows me to watch TV on my pc but I suggest you check it out you will be happy you did, not to mention more channels then anyone you know.

For many families, the television has become the focal point for the activity in the family room or home theater room. Panasonic has presented a new digital camera Lumix DMC -TZ50 which promises to share your photos through wireless communication. Nice isn't it? But it costs you a few more bucks. Looking at its other features we come to know of the following facts. It has an effective 9.1mega pixel CCD, 10X optical zooming capability, optical image stabilizer. DO NOT BUY this 2 year coverage if you're looking for an extension of your one year manufacturer's warranty. The warranty runs concurrently with the 1 year manufacturer's warranty. In my case, I already had the 1 year manufacturer's warranty plus an additional 3 months from SHARP when you register your TV for a total of 15 months warrantee. So I am actually paying $135 for a 9 month warranty. Definitely NOT THE DEAL I was looking for. I called the company and after being passed around and re-routed to other sales associates more than twice, the problem was not resolved. They basically told me in not so many words that I GOT SCREWED !!!

Before cable television, most people were satisfied with the basic local channels, turning away from the high cost to have more channels. However, as those same people got a taste of cable television, the price no longer seemed like a big deal. When satellite television was first introduced, the same was true. People thought they were happy with cable but when they had the opportunity to see what all satellite television offers, they again changed their mind.

A digital TV converter box is just what it sounds like. High-def TVs are great, but they don't always look as good as promised. Worse, the issue you're having isn't always under your control to fix. Here are a few reasons you may be having problems with your picture, and what you can do to make it better.

Your Blu-Ray Disk Player Is Not Compatible.

Most people planning to get a new high-def TV are also planning to pick up a Blu-ray disk player as well. You might expect all these technologies would work together smoothly - but you'd be wrong. Unfortunately, there are some serious compatibility issues with certain Blu-ray players if you don't have the right high-def TV. Read your specifications very carefully. Your high-def TV should be able to accept external 1080p signals from a scaling media player (DVD, HD-DVD, or Blu-ray). If it does not specify this, and your media player needs to scale the picture, call tech support.

Your Cable Company Is An Ass

In most cases, your HD will work, or it won't; there is no snow, smudging, or other in-between issue. If your HD picture looks bad, it's probably your cable (or satellite) company's fault. HDTV signals need to be compressed to be broadcast properly, but they can be compressed too much. If your company uses a channel intended for only one data stream and squeezes two or more into it, your picture quality will almost certainly suffer. The only thing you can do about this is call the cable company and tell them what you think about it - or switch your providers.

You Need Better Cables

In most cases, provided your cables are short you don't need expensive HDMI or DVI cabling for your system. You will get just as good a picture by using cheaper video cables. However, longer cables, especially cables near any source of interference, may corrupt your signal. This causes you to not have a picture at all, in most cases. Try hooking back up with a shorter cable; if that works, get the shielded, or change your setup.

You're Playing Poorly-Recorded Discs

Not all movies are created the same. Sometimes the master that Blu-ray discs must use when they're copied are not in the best condition, or the technician does not set up his parameters properly. This is another issue you can't do anything about, but you can head it off by searching online before investing in any discs. New movies won't have a problem, but the older library of stuff may have issues, and other people online will have found this and posted about it.

In addition, your regular television programs and DVDs may look fuzzier on your high-def TV than they did originally on your old set. That's normal, and is due to the higher resolution having the net effect of magnifying irregularities - it's like looking at printed paper through a magnifying glass. You see all the flaws. This is something you just have to live with.

When you compare price make sure to take all things into consideration such as shipping fees and taxes when determining the actual cost of the LCD. The price savings can be significant, particularly on the mid to high end displays. Stores often push the sales of overpriced cables saying that you need them in order to get a quality video and audio experience. These cables are one of the areas where a store can make a lot of money. The truth is that there is very little difference between cables, particularly the digital cable such as HDMI. Local stores won't carry the discount cables, so ordering cables online is a perfect way to save a great deal of money.
